This video tells the story of the South March Highlands in four minutes. It is the combined effort of Paul Renaud, Steve Hulaj and Gord Stephen.
Photo by Steve Hulaj Over 400 concerned people turned out to walk through the Beaver Pond Forest on Saturday, June 5, to protest a planned subdivision that would see 182 hectares of the woods demolished.
The March Highlands proposal is short-sighted and poorly planned. It isolates a natural area making it too small to sustain a healthy ecosystem. It is a symptom of piecemeal approval of construction instead of an integrated, sustainable approach to development.

While Britain has just elected its first Green MP and Canada is inching in that direction, Columbia is on the verge of a Green leap forward: electing Antanas Mockus to the office of President. The election will be held this Sunday, May 30th, and if necessary there will be a runoff in the third week of June. Some recent polls have put Mockus neck-and-neck with his rival Juan Manuel Santos. Others have put Mockus well ahead.
Yet more proof that Greens are electable.

Hi there,
An interesting commentary from Democratic Space

Yesterday was a historic step forward in UK politics. Caroline Lucas was elected as Britain’s first Green Member of Parliament. Here are her comments.
Even under the archaic first-past-the-post electoral system that Britain shares with Canada, Green candidates can compete and Green candidates can win. Help us make this happen in Canada and in Carleton—Mississippi Mills.
An interesting article from The New York Times.
